The Hype and Fuff Swamp

Being the webmaster of Family Fun Cartoons with a PR of 3, I get inundated with internet marketers to purchase their products, usually software to improve my rankings, maximize SEO or get on Google's first page with my keywords.

I now have "white hat" filters on my email which helps reduce the amount of spam—but spamming is so prolific on FB and Twitter that I wonder if it is the beginning of the end for a high percentage of twitterers. The spin now falls on deaf ears as people become quite blind to any form of advert or spin or spam.

What I really need are honest SEO marketers who have a good product, who can back up their statements with facts, not 1,500 words of hype with bonuses worth millions and a worthless "Money back guarantee if not completely satisfied"  Now I would not need a guarantee if it was a good product and got results for me, would I? I would not require all those bonuses worth millions, right?

Honestly? There is only one company to date I know really worth dealing with, that would be SBI  I am not trying to sell SBI to you but this site has simple, easy-to-understand talk about the internet and especially building you own website around your passion.

Also the SBI Forum is one place on the internet where you can get help in building your site from scratch—it is a help and be helped forum—and there is no other place like it on Planet Earth for friendly, honest people. But I do not want you to take my word for it without you checking it out thoroughly.

Thank you for reading,

Ways To Resolve Family Issues

You can't have much family fun if there is dissension among family members, especially if you have in-laws who love to have a say in almost everything that goes on under the roof. Mothers-in-law can be a real pain in the butt but they can be very helpful sometimes.

A successful marriage is the cornerstone of a stable society and where you find soaring divorce rates, it goes without saying that that society is on its way out—as went Rome and now western civilization. Don't take my word for it, have a look around and observe what is happening around you in families and society.  I have written up recently about the global and US divorce stats which is no pretty picture. These stats spell disaster in the long term future for your kids.

The answers are simple enough. In any dispute between you and your spouse, your mother or father-in-law, your kids, fights over money or suspicions of infidelity can be resolved without a lot of sweat providing you are willing to talk about it. If there is no willingness on either side then there is little hope of recovery. ANY situation can be resolved providing there is willingness.

Of course it is of little use pointing fingers at your spouse which worsens the situation. Taking responsibility is the first step in resolving any issue. Instead of "You did blah, blah..." reverse it to "I did this and it was my mistake" is a great start. It takes a big person to admit responsibility for these family issues without pointing fingers or "Look what you did to me!"

You love your kids, so take responsibility for their future and resolve any family issues in a sane, sensible way by the willingness to communicate.

Kids Show Bad Habits While Watching TV

No kid looks good without their mischievous and naughty nature, but being parents we should stay conscious about differentiating their kid's behaviors and bad habits. You know, in a recent study a group of American behavioral psychologist has revealed that 80% of the children possess some bad habits and 45% among them grow up with these which eventually hamper their adult life.

After ice-cream and video games, I think TV is the 3rd most favorite entertainment for kid’s. And recently I have noticed some very common bad habits they show while watching TV. Here, in this blogpost, I will share some of these with you.

Watching TV for too long: You just tune the channel to Cartoon Network or VH1 and see them; they will not leave the couch for at least an hour or more. Sitting at a stretch for a long time in front of TV can make the nervous system and body tired and it does hinder a kid’s study and other activities. So you should limit the period to 30-40minutes max.

Crank up the sound: Yes, this is another bad habit most of the kids show while watching TV, especially watching an action movie or cartoon. But you know, being too loud can weaken the auditory perception, even a permanent basis. So don’t let your kids operate the TV remote and play with the volume level.

Sitting close to TV set: They simply don’t care about the eye discomfort or headache. When their favorite cartoon or an action series is running they will choose the closest seat near the TV. The result – children will lose their vision gradually and, at an early age, spectacles will be their support to see the world. So you need to make the sitting arrangement at least 2.5 – 4 yards away from the television set.

Bad sitting posture: Children prefer watching TV while being a couch potato, while leaning or sitting leisurely. Such postures may lead to muscle aches and pains.

So you are advised to keep your eyes on your kids while they gape at the TV.  Your negligence can lead your kids to serious physical or psychological problems in their future life.

Some Staggering Stats

Fifty to sixty percent of marriages in the USA end up in divorce. This is quite staggering and far worse among Africa Americans and Christians - and every year these stats get worse.

Divorce has a major impact on family life, for the kids, parents, relatives. So what is the real problem here besides the so-called "feminine freedom" where women can call the tune and prefer (sometimes) bucks, a bigger house, car, more material things than her kids. You don't believe it eh? Just take a peek around suburbia or be aware of where the bulk of the family income is spent. Better things, more of them.

The kids suffer most in this family upset and are often bewildered how it ever came about and the parents are more concerned about their own emotional upset than their kids. Suffer little children.

Please take time to make some comments on how you think family life can be improved to give a future to the next generation. They deserve it.

Perhaps the institution of marriage has no place in the future?

Three Foods That Can Make Your Kids Happy As Well As Healthy

I think for all of us parents one of the most challenging tasks of growing up our kids is feeding them up with proper nutritional foods. Ahh....I can remember those mornings of my kids' nursery days when I had to run behind them to feed them their breakfast. Even now when my kids are in school, for  me getting my finicky kids to eat is no less tough than trying to push a bolder up a mountain of molasses. But, you know, recently I got the way to give my kids complete nutrition, how? Simply, by giving them their favorite foods in a way that contains complete nutrition value they need. Ok, let me share some of them with you.

In the list of my kids' favorite foods, based on their nutritious value, I would give first preferences to macaroni and cheese. You know if I give my kids these two foods four times a day then also not even for a single time they would show their apathy for those, and I think in the current time my kids are not the exceptions with such love for macaroni. I prefer bringing Craft Mac and cheese for my kids, as these are really yammi. And of-course, no matter how good cooked the macaroni is, without pouring ketchup all over I think your kids would not love to eat it. Let your kids take the ketchup by their own and enjoy their favourite dish in their own way.

You know my kids never forget to give me a reminder that in dinner I have to prepare fried chicken for them. I prefer making two of my kids' voted dishes Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken and white meat at my home with some spicy yet healthy ingredients. And yes, I don't forget to bring the biscuit that comes with them, as I have seen my kids get the real zeal of eating chicken with that biscuit only, because the double crispiness of chicken and biscuit gets a real thumbs up.

The next most popular menu in the preference list of my kids' favorite foods is Hamburger. What I found recently that onion is the one that is strictly no-no for them; so no onion near anywhere of their Hamburger. All they need in their burger is lots of ketchup. And remember, the bun should be hamburger buns and you need to keep the regular hard rolls, whole wheat buns or rolls and certainly seeds away from their Hamburger to give them that yammi test they are affectionate of.

So, if you're scratching your head to find out the way to give your kids complete nutrition with their favorite foods then try these ones.

Having abundant family fun on less than ten bucks

A large volume of people of this modern age think happiness is an element of life which can be easily bought by spending lots of money; more money you spend the more happiness you get. But you know, I have always opposed this thought and possessed a belief that money is just a rudiment of happiness, not the ultimate necessity to have fun with your family. Ok, let me share my own life style to have family fun moments with my kids and the entire family without spending even a dollar.

Your local family park can be a fun destination for your family if you have the real passion to have enjoyment in natural ways. Pack the entire family's lunch, take some coloring pencils, cartoon books and in charming weather, go with your entire family for a great outing.

You see, walking with nature will be much more refreshing than all that indoor fun stuff you bring for your kids. In the lap of Mother Nature your family will get an opportunity to have a walk and you will get a wonderful bonding moments with your kids with the family.

If you become a bit bored after having a number of visits to the same old local parks then you can choose another way to have low-cost fun, i.e. painting on cardboard with color pencils with your kids. Let your kids’ imaginations flow free with whatever activity they want to engage with their color pencils, funny cats etc. Motivate them to be more creative and enjoy whatever crazy activities they do passionately.

Playing kite with your kids is another enthralling activity that would make you, your kids, and your spouse happy. Oh yes... competing with other kites in the sky, running to catch a kite, becoming upset for losing a kite competition and rising again with a colorful kite to be the ruler of the sky - these can be quite crazy and funny.

Now just think, no family fun activity discussed above would cost you over ten bucks and you need not spend a lot of time and effort to see your kids and family happy. So have some fun in some down-to-earth ways and give me your feedback about your experience or write up a comment here on how you have lots of family fun!

When to quit and when to stick it out...

A small book by Seth Godin and well worth reading as it teaches you when to quit and when to hang in there with a little persistancy, here is an excerpt from Amazon:

Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low point -- really hard, and not much fun at all.

And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe you're in a Dip -- a temporary setback that will get better if you keep pushing. But maybe it's really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try.

According to bestselling author Seth Godin, what really sets superstars apart from everyone else is the ability to escape dead ends quickly, while staying focused and motivated when it really counts.
Winners quit fast, quit often, and quit without guilt -- until they commit to beating the right Dip for the right reasons. In fact, winners seek out the Dip. They realize that the bigger the barrier, the bigger the reward for getting past it. If you can become number one in your niche, you'll get more than your fair share of profits, glory, and long-term security.

Losers, on the other hand, fall into two basic traps. Either they fail to stick out the Dip -- they get to the moment of truth and then give up -- or they never even find the right Dip to conquer.

Whether you're a graphic designer, a sales rep, an athlete, or an aspiring CEO, this fun little book will help you figure out if you're in a Dip that's worthy of your time, effort, and talents. If you are, The Dip will inspire you to hang tough. If not, it will help you find the courage to quit -- so you can be number one at something else.

No, I do not get a commission from Amazon - it is just a very good read!

Enjoy the charm of this rainy season with your kids

No doubt, kids always look forward for their upcoming holiday
opportunity, and to get a shy of relief from our daily hectic life we
also wait for the favorable circumstances to have some great family fun moments with our kids along with the entire family. In a few
early posts of this blog I have discussed about some enjoyable ways
to experience a summer vacation; now how about talking of having fun
in the rainy days?

Just think about the time when it's raining outside and the nature is
rejuvenating in its own way; Oh...yeah, in such a wonderful season
spending some great time with family has no other alternative. If you
think that enjoying the rainy season is just about going out in the
rain and making some crazy activities with you kids then, I would
say, think again! Ok, let me share some of my styles to enjoy rainy
days with my kids and family.

First of all I would say that as parents we need to think of how we
can motivate our kids to entertain themselves out of television and
video games, the most favorite entertaining elements of a kid's life.
In a charming season like monsoon, we can suggest our kids lots of
activities where they can engage themselves to have more fun than
their favorite computer games and television show.

You can look for some fun activity centers like zoos, bowling alleys
and museums in your locality. Here's one thing I would like to say,
while selecting a fun center for a family outing with kids, keep in
mind that the center is full of fun amenities and classic games like
bowling, interactive games, game tables, and much more. If possible,
look for a fun center that is equipped with loads of interactive
games.

You know what, in such an environment your kids will get involved in
some mental as well as physical activities with their fellow friends,
and will be purely entertained. I hope playing such interesting games
will be no less entertaining than their Wii and Xbox. Also, in this
charming rainy reason, let your kid’s imagination flow with
activities like coloring pages, creation of funny stuff and so forth.

Kids Online Games – Cool Ways to Have Great Family Fun

Kids' attitudes towards gaming activities keep changing with their
age, but one thing I have noticed in kids of all ages that if you
give them the option to choose one among soccer, table tennis, some
board games and a computer with loads of games installed or attached
with an Internet connection, then majority of them would like to go
for the last one. And why not, if they get a pure entertainment and
enthrallment of gaming while being actively participated with fellow
friends and the dear ones?

You know, I felt the actual fascination of the kids online games when
for the first time I played them with my little champions. Oh...yeah,
it was really full of fun and entertaining. Wow, how can I describe
you how enjoying it was to compete with my kids to find out a hidden
treasure from the jungle, fighting with giants, and racing with our
favorite car models!

You know, among all types of kids online games me and my kids have
played until now, we found the racing games as the most exciting
ones. Being multi-player games as you can easily engage in hastening
to be the 1st by overtaking your kids, the excitation would be much
higher than other types of games.

When we get bored by competing with each other then we start
struggling with some fighting games. I usually become the villain of
the story and my kids turn the superheroes, and then they engage in
shooting and bombing on me. Wow… you won’t believe how exciting we
stay while playing the games.

Finally I would to all of you that for having great family fun at
home, kids online games would be the cool options. To get the
ultimate enjoyment of online games engage your entire family into the
gameplay. Play together with your kids and all the other members of
your family and have fun!

Rapport with your kids

Rapport with your kids: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"
So what is the best way of building rapport with your kids?

Well, you sit down with only one of them at a time in a quiet place where you are not going to be disturbed, no phones, no animals around, no distractions.

You ask questions, general questions and then get more specific. The most important thing is to LISTEN to your child; this is almost never done between parents and their kids. That's right, you never listen to what your child has to say and assume you know all the answers.

The first question should be something like this - but the question is obviously determined by the child's age;  "What have you been doing lately?" It is a broad question so the child has to think a little. You keep silent until you get a response. Once the child answers you acknowledge him/her. She may respond with "Playing with Sarah" So you ask her "Tell me about Sarah" even if you know all about Sarah. And the response might be "We played in the garden." So you follow up with "Which garden was that?"

After each answer an acknowledgment is given and there must be no interruptions while your child is thinking about the answer.Be a good listener to get a great rapport going with your children and do not interrupt their train of thought. Another important thing is this: do not evaluate for the child i.e. "well, you should have..."  rather ask a question "What would be the right thing to do?"

Benalmadena, Spain - Find an Enthralling Way to Have Family Fun

In the last summer vacation we visited to Benalmadena for great family fun. While I was engaged in the information gathering process and planning for the tour, I was thinking whether my kids will enjoy the place and the tour or not; but all my confusions went wrong right from the moment we reached there.

Yeppiiii!! We were about to reach the marina of Benalmadena, walking slowly towards to sea world, certainly my 14-years old elder son charged up with a wild excitement and started shouting and acting like a happy orangutan. Well, he was not alone, my other kids and my husband also joined him and you won’t believe, I really hadn’t seen them happier than that day before.

After we had done with our sea bathing, we moved to Selwo Marina, where we did play, swim and interact a lot with the dolphins and sea lions. Wow, I really can’t describe how excited my kids were by getting the opportunity to touch, play and have fun with dolphins.

On the next day, we visited the Costa del Sol, which again proved as an amusement center for my kids. The large variety of rides, shows, funny stuff and amusements programs made my family completely lost into.

Our final destination was Benalmadena Cableca. Here, I must say to all the readers that, if you don’t like height then you must try with this one; I am sure you will find what actually the excitement is with a mountain ride without facing anything to fear about.

From Benalmadena we hired a cable car and started our breathtaking ride to the top of the place that is 750 meter above sea level, Calamorro Mountain. Now what should I describe about the trip; the cable car riding was itself worth the expense.

As we reached the Calamorro Mountain a new session of fun began. I saw my kids wanting to fly with the eagles, falcons, and lots of colorful birds. We took a walk along a hiking route to reach the middle point of the Benalmadena’s nature, and our Benalmadena tour’s family fun ended with the wide view of Mother Nature in a safe cage in our minds.
