When you are a kid and you have all this time in the world, what do you think you'd like to do? Simple! Being one of the few who were privileged enough to be given the role to do as you please, you have all this time to play and learn about the things around you. Kids are arguably the happiest creatures in the world. This is because they are given the license to make and play games out of anything. When it comes to rules, there are no rules. The only rule to follow is say no to boredom and hello to fun-fun-fun!
You do not have to have a high-tech gadget to play kids’ games. You do not have to make elaborate props for a game to work. When it comes to kids’ stuff, simpler is better. This is because children are normally imaginative. They can make space ships and air planes out of empty cartons or boxes. They can see castles in your stocks of blocks. They can see princesses and princes beyond the toy swords and tiaras that their playmates wear. Hence, when it comes to games, children enjoy limitless possibilities.
When adult games are mediated by coaches and referees, kids’ games observe one rule only. Kids usually go for games that they can play with their imagination. They like games that can keep them running around the grounds, chasing their playmates. They like games that give them a feeling of adventure, a chance to get lost into a world that is entirely their own; the bright ones like games where all the kids win!
Sunny days are a treat to a playful and active child. It is during these days that sky clears up for them to play tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, wheelbarrow races and more of outdoor games. On the other hand, gloomy and rainy days are no exception. Indoors, children can do living room bowling, board games, tea parties and camping tents by setting up blankets. In their make-believe world, they get forget what boredom is like and dwell on the overwhelming feeling of fun and excitement, which define the very essence of being a kid.
Playing kids’ games is not only limited to indoor and outdoor activities. It can be done while riding the bus, or during long vacation trips. It can be done while waiting for the food you ordered in the restaurant or even while lining up to the grocery cashier lane. Every chance is perfect to play games.
Kids’ games are not all fun. It conceals some valuable learning experiences, which will guide the children in learning, adapting and understanding the things in his environment. Through games, parents are given the chance to explain how people acts and reacts with make-believe stories and dress-up activities. With game activities, families can spend quality time with their kids.
It is natural for kids to be curious and active. They can be overly imaginative and relentlessly playful. With that, they need to play some fun kids’ games to feed their urge to explore the world they live in. Through games, they can be anything they want or pretend to be anyone who they wanted to be— they learn valuable skills and lessons. No game is corny in a kid’s eye. Playing the game is better than leaving your child to bear boredom.
